Unity is strength
February 1990. Some skiers looking for a way to promote their favorite sport. Given the almost nonexistent promotion of this sport and, observing the lack of coordination between the stations they decide voluntarily to offer their services to owners or managers of ski resorts skiing. They aspire to help and join together in a permanent association and finally emerge from the shadows, the sport and enable him to shine alongside his famous brother, downhill skiing.

This is the first time that there is such a regional grouping. In a spirit of friendliness, is woven the first frame of the “Coalition of the resorts  Quebec City area (RSSFRQ). A board composed of leaders of stations is ready to lead this new organization.
Promotion and development will be the goals that will continue the RSSFRQ. Exchange of expertise and application of safety standards will then record the recurring non profit organization. 17 years ago, the first 15 stations to believe in this project assembly in the region of Quebec Station from Charlevoix, Chaudière-Appalaches and Center of Quebec to increase the number of member stations 48 totaling 2500 kilometers of ski trails.

The first promotional tool was the creation of a directory of stations supported by a map to facilitate locating them. The ski shops join the project and offer to promote the directories in their establishments. Over the years, we find the accommodation and tourist facilities. Partnerships are well developed. Various activities were conducted by the RSSFRQ: People's Rally on the Plains of Abraham, realization of the statistical survey of the practice, capsules radio and television, weekly columns for skiing in the newspapers. Discounts for skiers members of one or other of these stations are now available to encourage them to "around trip for all oh them. For about five years, the snowshoeing follows the steps in the cross-country skiing, the propagation of snowshoe trails all well marked,  invited more people to play outside From small projects have been realised  with students of primary level . These kids will be the next generation of cross-country skiers.The directories are now published in large numbers. For cross-country skiers, educational panels to increase awareness of wildlife have been subsidized for stations. Signaling standards are increasingly present for all centers. To make known the practice of skiing in our areas, trade show have been made and the partnerships were developed with other organizations with similar interests to RSSFRQ.
